Email Campaigns

MailTrixy provides a comprehensive email campaign system for sending bulk emails to your contact lists and segments. From simple newsletters to sophisticated A/B tested drip sequences, the campaign module covers every email marketing need with built-in tracking and detailed analytics.

Campaign Types

MailTrixy supports three campaign types to address different marketing strategies:

Regular Campaigns

A standard one-time email send to a selected audience. Ideal for newsletters, product announcements, event invitations, and promotional offers. You compose a single email, choose your recipients, and either send immediately or schedule for a future date.

A/B Testing Campaigns

Test two or more variants of your email to determine which performs better before sending to your full audience:

  • Test Variables: Test subject lines, sender names, email content, or send times.
  • Audience Split: Define the percentage of your audience that receives the test variants (e.g., 20% split evenly between A and B). The remaining 80% receives the winning variant.
  • Winning Criteria: Choose the metric that determines the winner: open rate, click rate, or click-to-open rate.
  • Test Duration: Set how long to wait before selecting the winner (1 hour to 24 hours). After the test period, the winning variant is automatically sent to the remaining audience.
  • Manual Override: Optionally choose the winner manually instead of waiting for the automatic selection.

Drip Sequences

Automated email series that send messages at predefined intervals after a trigger event:

  • Welcome Series: A sequence of onboarding emails triggered when a contact joins a list.
  • Nurture Sequence: Educational content delivered over days or weeks to move leads through the funnel.
  • Re-engagement: A series of emails sent to inactive contacts to win them back.
  • Post-Purchase: Follow-up emails after a deal is closed (thank you, onboarding, review request).

Each email in a drip sequence has a configurable delay (e.g., Day 0, Day 3, Day 7, Day 14). Contacts can be removed from the sequence based on conditions (e.g., if they reply, click a specific link, or are tagged).

Drag-and-Drop Email Builder

MailTrixy includes a visual email builder that allows you to create professional, responsive emails without writing HTML code:

  • Block-Based Editing: Drag content blocks from the sidebar into your email canvas. Available blocks include text, image, button, columns, divider, spacer, header, footer, social links, video placeholder, and HTML code block.
  • Responsive Preview: Toggle between desktop, tablet, and mobile preview modes to see exactly how your email will render on different devices.
  • Style Controls: Customize fonts, colors, padding, alignment, borders, and backgrounds for each block and the overall email.
  • Image Management: Upload images directly or paste URLs. Images are automatically hosted on MailTrixy's CDN. Resize and crop tools are built in.
  • HTML Mode: Switch to raw HTML editing at any time for full control. Changes in HTML mode are reflected in the visual builder and vice versa.
  • Save as Template: Save any email design as a reusable template accessible from the template library.

52 Professional Templates

MailTrixy ships with 52 professionally designed email templates spanning 15+ categories. Every template is fully responsive, tested across 30+ email clients, and ready to customize:

  • E-commerce: Product launch, sale announcement, abandoned cart, order confirmation, shipping notification.
  • SaaS: Welcome onboarding, feature announcement, trial expiring, subscription renewal, usage report.
  • Agency: Portfolio showcase, case study highlight, proposal follow-up, meeting invite.
  • Real Estate: New listing, open house invitation, market update, client testimonial.
  • Healthcare: Appointment reminder, health tips newsletter, patient follow-up.
  • Education: Course announcement, enrollment confirmation, event recap.
  • Hospitality: Booking confirmation, guest feedback request, seasonal promotion.
  • Nonprofit: Donation appeal, impact report, volunteer call-to-action.
  • Marketing: Newsletter, webinar invitation, content digest, survey request.
  • Seasonal: Holiday greetings, New Year, Black Friday, back-to-school.

Recipient Selection

When creating a campaign, you select recipients from your CRM using flexible targeting options:

  • Contact Lists: Select one or more lists. Contacts who appear on multiple selected lists receive the email only once (automatic deduplication).
  • Segments: Use dynamic segments as recipient groups. The segment is evaluated at send time, so contacts who match the criteria at the moment of sending are included.
  • Tags: Target contacts with specific tags. Combine multiple tags with AND/OR logic.
  • Exclusions: Exclude specific lists, segments, or tags from the send. For example, send to "All Subscribers" except those tagged "VIP" (who receive a different version).
  • Suppression: MailTrixy automatically suppresses contacts who have unsubscribed, bounced (hard bounce), or are marked as spam complaints. These contacts are never included regardless of list membership.

Scheduling

Campaigns can be sent immediately or scheduled for a future date and time:

  • Immediate Send: Click "Send Now" to begin dispatching emails immediately via the queue system.
  • Scheduled Send: Pick a date and time. The campaign enters a "Scheduled" state and is dispatched automatically at the specified time.
  • Send Time Optimization: Enable AI-powered send time optimization to deliver each email at the time the individual recipient is most likely to open it (based on historical open time patterns).
  • Throttling: Configure send rate limits (e.g., 500 emails per hour) to avoid overwhelming your mail server or hitting provider rate limits.

Tracking and Metrics

MailTrixy tracks comprehensive metrics for every campaign:

  • Open Rate: Percentage of delivered emails that were opened. Tracked via a transparent tracking pixel. Note: Apple Mail Privacy Protection and similar features may inflate open counts.
  • Click Rate: Percentage of delivered emails where at least one link was clicked. Each link in the email is tracked individually.
  • Click-to-Open Rate (CTOR): Percentage of opened emails that had a click. A more accurate measure of content engagement.
  • Bounce Rate: Percentage of emails that bounced (hard + soft). High bounce rates indicate list quality issues.
  • Unsubscribe Rate: Percentage of recipients who clicked the unsubscribe link.
  • Spam Complaint Rate: Percentage of recipients who marked the email as spam. MailTrixy processes feedback loop (FBL) reports from major ISPs.
  • Revenue Attribution: If integrated with the deals pipeline, track revenue attributed to campaign clicks (last-click attribution model).

Campaign Reports

Each campaign has a detailed report page accessible after sending:

  • Summary Dashboard: Key metrics at a glance with comparison to workspace averages.
  • Open/Click Timeline: A time-series chart showing opens and clicks over the hours and days following the send.
  • Link Click Map: Visual overlay on the email showing which links received the most clicks (heat map style).
  • Geo Distribution: Map showing where recipients opened the email (country and city level, based on IP geolocation).
  • Device Breakdown: Pie chart showing desktop vs. mobile vs. tablet opens, and email client breakdown (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.).
  • Recipient Activity: Searchable table of all recipients showing individual status (delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, unsubscribed) with timestamps.

SPF/DKIM Deliverability Guide

Email deliverability depends on proper authentication records. MailTrixy guides you through setting up:

  • SPF (Sender Policy Framework): Add MailTrixy's sending IP addresses to your domain's SPF DNS record. MailTrixy provides the exact TXT record value to add. The system verifies SPF configuration and alerts you if it is missing or misconfigured.
  • DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail): MailTrixy generates a unique DKIM key pair for each sending domain. Add the provided DKIM public key as a DNS TXT record. All outgoing emails are signed with the DKIM private key for authentication.
  • DMARC: MailTrixy recommends and helps configure a DMARC policy for your domain. Start with p=none for monitoring, then graduate to p=quarantine or p=reject as confidence grows.
  • Domain Verification: A built-in domain verification tool checks SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records and provides a green/yellow/red health indicator with specific remediation steps.

Important: Sending campaigns without proper SPF and DKIM records significantly increases the chance of emails landing in spam. Always verify your domain configuration before launching your first campaign.

A/B Testing Configuration

Detailed steps to configure an A/B test campaign:

  1. Create a new campaign and select "A/B Test" as the campaign type.
  2. Choose the variable to test: subject line, sender name, content, or send time.
  3. Create your variants (2 to 5 variants supported). For subject line tests, enter each variant subject. For content tests, design each variant using the email builder.
  4. Set the test audience size (5% to 50% of total recipients). This audience is split evenly across variants.
  5. Select the winning metric (open rate, click rate, or CTOR).
  6. Set the test duration (minimum 1 hour, maximum 24 hours).
  7. Configure the remainder send: automatic (winner sent at test end) or manual (you review results and choose).
  8. Schedule or send the campaign. The test portion sends first; the remainder follows after the test concludes.

Results for each variant are displayed in real time on the campaign report page, with the current leader highlighted.
